White Tailed Eagle on the Isle of Arran

Already a home to Golden Eagle, The Isle of Arran now has a new bird of prey. Over the last 2 weeks there have been regular sightings of a rare White Tailed Eagle. The bird is a 2nd year juvenile and has been seen at Whiting Bay and in the far south of the island. It has wing tags which show it to be a bird released a few months ago in Fife as part of a reintroduction programme. Hopes are high that it will make its home on the island. Lochranza Youth Hostel staff are keeping up to date with the birds movements so why not visit us one weekend this winter.
